Aviva UK are now recruiting for a Renewable Energy Underwriter to join our successful established Renewable Energy & Engineering Team. We’re proud of the global growth achieved by the team and are looking to expand our market leading team to further our presence in the market, our broker relations and expand our growth targets while maintaining service levels and profitability.
We are ideally looking for an individual who has experience in onshore renewable energy underwriting or broking. However, we are also able to consider candidates with a London Market insurance underwriting background along with an Interest for renewable energy and supporting the energy transition.
While experience in Renewable Energy is preferable, we are open to candidates without this if you are able to demonstrate a passion for Renewables and a willingness to work hard. We are looking for someone who is willing to learn about the industry and drive their career forwards as an onshore renewable energy underwriter.
A bit about the job
Underwriting global Renewable Energy business, servicing the existing book and creating/managing relationships with brokers
Working closely with the London Market Renewable Energy team to underwrite risks in line with appetite and strategy
Growing the Renewable Energy book in a profitable manner
Working with the wider Renewable Energy & Engineering team on ad hoc tasks as required
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Ideally recent experience in underwriting or broking onshore renewable energy risks (but not essential)
Commercial experience in the London Market Insurance industry (e.g. Assistant Underwriter)
Confidence and track record of being able to build and maintain good working engagements with brokers
Ability to underwrite while complying to all risk and governance requirements
Personable and a good teammate with the ability to work well under pressure with good time management
