Position details Role: Science Technician — Watford Start date: January 2026 Contract: Permanent / Full-Time Main duties Prepare materials, set up apparatus for practical lessons and ensure labs are cleared and tidy afterwards. Maintain and log consumables and chemicals, manage ordering and ensure safe, compliant storage. Support equipment maintenance, perform routine checks and log faults for repair with suppliers. Keep COSHH, risk-assessment and safety files up to date and assist with audit preparations. Support teachers with demonstrations and practical supervision when required, contributing to strong practical outcomes in Watford. Person specification Previous science technician or laboratory-support experience, with solid practical skills. Knowledgeable about COSHH, PPE, risk assessments and safe disposal procedures. Organised, proactive and able to manage inventories and competing requests across Watford. Strong communicator, comfortable working with staff, pupils and contractors and available to start January 2026.
