Senior Management Accountant
£65,000 - £75,000 + bonus & excellent benefits
Are you a motivated and ambitious Qualified Management Accountant, looking for a value add and varied month end finance role? Our client, a large multi-site retail business and leader in its field, is partnered exclusively with Aila to recruit a Senior Management Accountant on a permanent basis.

The Role:
The primary objective of this role is to deliver an effective month end close process, whilst also business partnering with sites, adding value through insightful analysis, and taking a leading role in strategic support on various projects such as new venues, profitability and long-term investment appraisals. You will also manage and lead 1 direct report, so you must be comfortable with this.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend Regional operational and P&L meetings, supporting the Regional Managing Directors, Area, and Site Managers by providing financial expertise, support, and analysis, exploring concerns, and offering potential solutions.
Support the Accountants and Analysts, safeguarding the financial integrity and accuracy of the site P&L's and ensure they are closed to the agreed timetables.
Ensure Accountants and Analysts provide consistency in reporting from different systems to achieve financial integrity of sales, margin, costs, stock, payroll, banking, and provisions by creating and enhancing processes to aid reconciliations
Work with Project Managers to ensure all capital costs are captured correctly and variances to budget are understood.
Maintain the fixed asset and intangible asset registers.
Responsible for coaching Field teams and Managers in the effective interpretation of their P&L reports to achieve the required margin in either a group or on a one-to-one basis as required
Follow up and investigate queries from Managers to ensure the accuracy of the financial accounts.
Periodic reconciliations of balance sheet accounts. Ensure integrity is maintained through reconciliations to confirm financial controls.
Review trends and challenge current performance within the Regions and the wider business
Provide financial support to managers and ensure compliance in accounting for concur spend.
Support budget holders in their understanding of actual periodic costs.
Analyse large volumes of data and interpret findings in a clear concise format
Assist Finance Manager at period end providing support for junior members of the team and be able to fully close the accounts to the agreed deadlines
Undertake bespoke and project work as directed by the Head of Finance
The Ideal Candidate:
ACA/CIMA/ACCA Qualified Accountant with at least 12 months' post qualification experience
Experience working within a highly diverse multi-site organisation
Highly analytical with the ability to interpret & explain data
Results-driven individual who takes pride in delivering to deadlines
Advanced Excel, with strong commercial business partnering skills
What they Offer:
Competitive salary: £60,000 - £65,000
