London
Posted: 15 February
Offer description

A highly visible US law firm is continuing to invest in its London international arbitration practice and is seeking an accomplished England and Wales qualified associate at circa 2–5 PQE. London sits at the centre of the firm’s global arbitration platform, working closely with its international network of offices on heavyweight, cross-border disputes. The practice is known for handling complex, high-value matters rather than volume LCIA work, with a particular strength where arbitration intersects with English court litigation, enforcement, sanctions and geopolitically sensitive issues. The work: You will be involved in a broad mix of international arbitration and arbitration-related court proceedings, including: International commercial and investor–state arbitration Proceedings under LCIA, ICC, UNCITRAL, SIAC, SCC and HKIAC rules English court applications supporting arbitration, including anti-suit injunctions, enforcement and jurisdictional challenges Disputes arising from energy, infrastructure, financial services, technology and joint venture contexts The practice regularly acts for global corporates, financial institutions, investors, sovereigns and state-owned entities on matters that are strategically significant and often precedent-setting. The role: This is not a narrow arbitration seat. Associates are expected to operate comfortably across written advocacy, procedural strategy and cross-border coordination, working closely with senior partners and with colleagues across the firm’s global disputes platform. You will gain exposure to arbitration-court interface work that few teams in London can genuinely offer, alongside complex sanctions-affected and enforcement-driven disputes. Candidate profile: The firm is keen to speak with arbitration-focused lawyers who can demonstrate: England and Wales qualification Circa 2–5 years’ post-qualification experience in international arbitration Training and experience gained at a an elite arbitration practice Strong academic credentials and confidence handling procedural complexity Additional languages are a genuine advantage This opportunity will particularly appeal to those who want arbitration as a core discipline, but who also value breadth, scale and exposure to the wider disputes ecosystem. Ideal for a lawyer seeking top-tier international exposure within a collaborative and forward-thinking global disputes practice.
