A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join a well-established team on a permanent basis at a large, prestigious site in Croydon. This role will involve overseeing a team of shift engineers while ensuring all engineering operations and processes are carried out in full compliance with statutory and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical advice and support to site-based Authorised Persons (APs)
* Lead, plan, and deliver agreed changes to drive continuous improvement and enhance site performance
* Assess, appoint, and manage all Authorised Persons, maintaining the Certified Persons Register
* Ensure all planned preventative maintenance is completed to a high standard and that scopes of work are appropriate for the installed equipment
* Develop, implement, and maintain action plans following internal and external audits, including annual audits from Authorising Engineers, ensuring timely and accurate close‑out
* Collaborate with site-based Authorised Persons to produce a forward maintenance register and capital investment plan to support proactive estate management
* Conduct regular assessments of site-based Authorised Persons, ensuring all training and appointments remain valid and up to date
* Maintain consistency and accuracy across all site logbooks
* Participate in callout rota
* Ensure the permit‑to‑work system is fully compliant and fit for purpose
* Review, check, and authorise all relevant HV switching programmes
Essential Requirements
* Proven experience operating in an Authorised Person (AP) role
* HV & LV Authorised, with the ability to write and authorise HV switching schedules
* Extensive knowledge of Building Services Engineering
* Strong supervisory and people‑management experience
* Qualified to HNC/HND level or equivalent
* Full Electrical, Mechanical, or Air Conditioning qualifications
