Job Title: Consultant in Adult Psychiatry Grade: Consultant Location: Hove, Sussex Working Hours: 40 hours per week Rate: Competitive — details to be discussed upon application We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant Psychiatrist in Adult Mental Health to join our NHS client in Hove, Sussex. This is a full-time locum opportunity offering a dynamic role within a supportive and multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities • Provide expert psychiatric care to adults with complex mental health needs in both inpatient and community settings • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualised treatment plans • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, ward rounds, and case conferences • Ensure legal compliance with the Mental Health Act, including responsibilities under Section 12 approval • Contribute to service development, clinical governance, and supervision of junior medical staff Qualifications & Experience • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise • Inclusion on the Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry (or within 6 months of CCT) • Section 12 approval under the Mental Health Act • Significant experience in adult psychiatry, ideally in both inpatient and CMHT settings • Excellent leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills How to Apply If your experience aligns with this role, apply today.
