This is an exceptional opportunity for a creative and motivated Head Gardener to come on board before the main phase of perennial planting will be undertaken in Spring 2026. The 20-acre estate including a restored Jersey Manor House is being remodelled working closely with internationally renowned Garden Designer, Arne Maynard to create an exquisite 4-acre garden of immense horticultural distinction and beauty. The garden features a stunning 4-acre space with diverse plantings, traditional materials, and new features such as a Pond, Grotto, Shell House & Colombier. Its ornamental walled garden includes a productive area with a glasshouse for propagating cut flowers and potted plants. The landscape also boasts wildflower meadows, orchard, topiary, hedges, rhododendrons, and courtyard gardens. We are seeking a truly hands on Head Gardener - someone with passion, an amazing knowledge of plants and perennials and a creative eye. They will also need to be a great leader and developer of their team, an impeccable communicator and collaborator with the owners, designer, and our wider team. We would expect candidates to have a minimum RHS Level 3 horticultural qualification or equivalent, really good experience, an impressive plant knowledge, and who can demonstrate a progressive, committed and stable career path. A clean Driving Licence is essential. Reporting directly to the owners, you’ll manage daily maintenance, team development, and garden projects, supported by two full-time gardeners and specialist contractors. Salary will reflect qualifications and experience circa £55k. A 2 bed apartment will be provided. Salary could be negotiable for a truly outstanding candidate. Annual bonus.
