Overview
Scammonden Kennels and Cattery is a family owned and run boarding facility in Huddersfield. We are looking for 2 reliable, hardworking and compassionate new members to join our team. These are hands-on, physically demanding roles which are rewarding for someone passionate about animal care and comfortable working outdoors in all weather. Please consider how you will reliably commute to us as we are not accessible by public transport. Must be able to work alternate weekends or 1 day every weekend.
Duties
* Responsible for the daily care and well-being of the animals in our care, including mucking out, feeding, and exercising dogs and cats.
* Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cattery and surrounding areas by performing regular cleaning tasks.
* Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to senior staff or management
* Ensuring all animals are comfortable, safe and healthy during their stay.
* Assist with customer service duties, including greeting pet owners and answering enquiries about services.
* Handle heavy lifting as required when we have a food delivery.
* Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for both staff and animals.
Requirements
* Previous experience of a kennels environment and animal care qualifications are preferred but not essential
* Strong animal care skills, with the ability to handle cats, dogs and temperaments safely.
* A team player who can work collaboratively in a busy environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
* Good eye for detail with excellent observational skills.
* Friendly and approachable with customers
* Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners and provide them with information about their pets' care.
* Own means of transport.
Able to work alternate weekends or 1 day every weekend.

Pay: £12.21 per hour
