Overview
Electrical and Control Engineer - Scotland
Location: Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, UK. Join Mott MacDonald as an Electrical and Control Engineer in the Water Utilities Division.
Responsibilities
* Undertake a wide range of EICA tasks, including electrical power distribution design, control system design, identifying local renewable and back-up generation, plant layouts, cabling and installation design, instrumentation selection, lightning protection assessments, and writing system control strategies.
* Factory and site acceptance tests of equipment.
* Collaborate with clients and contractors to build strong relationships and secure further work.
* Work across project lifecycle from feasibility through detailed design, construction support, commissioning to handover.
* Support water treatment, water distribution, wastewater, desalination, irrigation, hydropower, and flood defence projects as part of multidisciplinary teams.
Candidate specification
Essential
* Qualified to HND level or higher in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline.
* Two years or more of experience in electrical and/or control engineering design/consultancy.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
* Understanding of the importance of prioritising health, safety, and environmental issues.
Desirable
* Master’s degree in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline (Working towards).
* Chartered status with the Institution of Engineering and Technology or an equivalent body.
* Experience of working in the water and/or wastewater industry.
* Good understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes.
