Experience of school or MAT finance Interim Head of Finance Location: East London / Essex Contract: Interim, Full-Time (On-site, 5 days per week) Start Date: ASAP We are seeking an experienced Interim Head of Finance to join a small Multi-Academy Trust in the East London / Essex area. This is a critical leadership role, working closely with the CEO and school leadership teams to ensure financial stability and support the Trust in achieving its educational objectives. Key Responsibilities Lead on budget negotiations, budgetary control, and compliance across the Trust. Drive the planning, development, and monitoring of finance, technology, and premises functions. Manage and develop the Trust’s finance team, ensuring high standards and efficiency. Establish commercial partnerships that deliver educational benefits for students. Provide strategic recommendations to support the Trust’s long-term development. Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, literacy, and numeracy at all times. Requirements CCAB Qualified or Qualified by Experience. Previous experience in a school or Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) environment. Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills. DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain). Immediate availability or short notice period.
