MINIBUS DRIVER VOLUNTEER - GROWING TOGETHER AND REACH
PURPOSEOF THE ROLE:
Trust Links is a local charity that aims to support peopleand build communities. It was established by local people to address mentalhealth needs in the Southend area in 2000, and was registered as a charity andlimited company in 2002. We enable people towork together to improve mental health and wellbeing and promote, support,inspire and cultivate wellness and sustainable living.
We are looking for competent minibus drivers to join us asvolunteers to help us transport our service users to and from our different locationsin and around South East Essex. This role would suit somebody who could beflexible as some week days and weekends will be required. If you can offer acouple of days a month or one day a week, and would be willing to join ourfriendly team we would like to speak with you. This is a flexible role thatcould fit somebody who is working or retired.
The Volunteer will be requiredto:
· Undergo a DBS check
· Drive staff, members and volunteers to events, outings, projects andother growing together gardens.
· Report issues, concerns and successes to project staff
· Work with the team to improve outcomes and wellbeing for project membersand the broader community
MAIN DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
· Transport Trust Links members, staff and volunteers on outings whichmay include longer trips.
· Ensure mini bus users are safely seated before each journey.
· Report any technical problems with the minibus.
· Taking part in appropriate training and development activities
· Notify staff if you are unable to attend your regular session
· Ensure Health and Safety regulations are adhered to in line with TrustLinks Health and Safety policy
· Ensure Safeguarding requirements are met in line with Trust LinksSafeguarding policy and escalate concerns about the wellbeing of service usersto appropriate staff members
· Raise any issues affecting service users with appropriate staff member
Skills
Volunteers will need
· A full and clean Driving License
· To be aged at least 21 and have held a full car license for at least twoyears.
· Excellent communication and people skills
· An interest in people and mental heath
· Empathy and listening skills
· Willingness and commitment to undertake further training and development
3 to 4 hours at a time from Monday to Saturday in and around Southend Borough, Rayleigh, Rochford, Thundersley, Basildon, Shoeburyness, Canvey Island and occasional full day for longer trips. This is a flexible role.
