Accounts Assistant | Onsite | Telford | £27,000 – £30,000 | Permanent | Immediate Start Seymour John are proud to be partnering with a well-established business based in Telford to recruit a conscientious and solutions-focused Accounts Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to join a supportive finance team in a varied role offering both autonomy and collaboration and a workplace where a good sense of humour is always appreciated! The Role You will provide general bookkeeping services within a niche industry. In addition to bookkeeping, you will process clients’ weekly sales reports, manage contractor payments, prepare Excel based reporting, and support with break-even analysis and cashflow forecasting all while meeting regular weekly deadlines. You’ll also be responsible for processing payroll and carrying out bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity in financial data. As an Accounts Assistant, your duties will include: * Processing supplier invoices and expense receipts/claims through Dext and publishing into QuickBooks * Creating sales invoices in QuickBooks * Completing bank reconciliations in QuickBooks, including contra payments * Processing credit card statements/receipts and balancing in QuickBooks * Reviewing entries in QuickBooks to ensure sales and purchase invoices are categorised correctly and VAT is entered accurately * Preparing break-even analyses * Preparing and monitoring cashflows * Processing payroll accurately and on time Accounts Assistant Requirements * Strong, hands-on experience with QuickBooks, including using multiple locations/departments to create Profit & Loss and other reports * Good knowledge of VAT — what can and cannot be reclaimed * Advanced Excel skills, including cashflow and budgeting experience * Knowledge of Dext (advantageous, but training can be provided) * Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment * Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with clients at all levels * A patient, approachable attitude and a good sense of humour because a positive team makes all the difference!
