Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting processes. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles.
Duties
* Maintain and update financial records using accounting software (Xero & Sage50 Payroll).
* Producing daily cashflow reports and financial forecasts.
* Process accounts payable, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and vendors.
* Processing supplier payments and receipts in XERO, including bank and credit card reconciliations.
* Prepare and reconcile bank statements, ensuring accuracy in all transactions.
* Supporting month-end close, including intercompany and payroll journals, leading to preparation of monthly management accounts.
* Overseeing the fleet contract and related administrative activities.
* Managing the monthly payroll and pension process using SAGE 50 Payroll.
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns and monitoring CAPEX / PIID information.
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in all bookkeeping activities.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role is preferred.
* Proficiency in accounting software including Sage 50 Payroll and Xero is essential.
* Strong knowledge of VAT returns, bank reconciliations, payroll processes and general bookkeeping principles.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
