Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and have experience in assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing heavy goods vehicles. This role requires proficiency in using power tools and equipment, as well as a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. The HGV Technician will play a vital role in ensuring that our fleet operates efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
* Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on heavy goods vehicles to ensure optimal performance.
* Assemble and fabricate components as needed for vehicle modifications or repairs.
* Perform equipment repairs, including diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical issues.
* Utilise power tools effectively for various tasks related to vehicle maintenance.
* Operate forklifts safely to move vehicles and equipment within the workshop.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used for each vehicle.
* Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations while working in the workshop environment.
Qualifications
* Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in HGV maintenance and repair.
* Ability to assemble, fabricate, and maintain various vehicle components.
* Familiarity with welding techniques is advantageous.
* Proficient in the use of power tools and diagnostic equipment.
* Strong problem-solving skills with an aptitude for equipment repair.
* Excellent customer service skills, demonstrating professionalism at all times.
* Valid forklift licence is preferred but not essential; training may be provided.
* A proactive approach to work with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
