Operations & Telematics Support Technician
Role Overview
Contel LTD is seeking a practical, motivated and adaptable individual to join our rapidly growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, hands-on work, and developing new technical skills within a fast-moving telematics business.
The successful candidate will support day-to-day operations across stock control, order preparation, and telematics hardware handling, while growing into a multi-skilled and flexible role within the company.
Key Responsibilities
Order Preparation & Kitting
* Preparing and assembling equipment kits for field engineers
* Ensuring orders are complete, accurate, and ready for dispatch
* Labelling, packaging, and organising hardware for installation jobs
Telematics Hardware Support
* Assisting with programming and configuration of telematics hardware, including:
* DVRs
* Radar systems
* Cameras and tracking units
* Carrying out basic testing and quality checks of equipment
* Supporting hardware troubleshooting under guidance
Stock & Inventory Management
* Managing stock control for telematics hardware and accessories
* Monitoring stock levels and supporting stock forecasting
* Booking in deliveries and maintaining accurate inventory records
* Identifying low-stock items and assisting with reordering
General Business Support
* Supporting multiple areas of the business as required
* Assisting with process improvements as the company grows
* Developing into a broader, multi-skilled role over time
Skills & Experience
Essential
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Comfortable working with hardware and technical equipment
* Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
* Reliable, flexible, and proactive attitude
* Basic IT skills (PC use, spreadsheets, simple systems)
Desirable (but not essential)
* Experience in stock control or logistics
* Background in electronics, IT, or telematics
* Experience with hardware configuration or testing
* Familiarity with small business or start-up environments

* Hands-on and practical
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
* Adaptable and happy with a varied workload
* Keen to develop technical and operational skills

Pay: £26,500.00-£30,000.00 per year
