About This Role The Global Leave Administrator manages all types of leaves for our global workforce. The role is specifically responsible for understanding and contributing to our global leave policies and programs, administering compliant leaves, communicating with team members and managers about leave events and policies, and ensuring Deel is compliant overall with our leave administration practices. This is a significant role as we currently have team members in over one hundred countries and our leave administrators are the first point of contact for team members initiating a leave. What You will Do Administer various leave programs to include but not limited to leave programs for team members in over one hundred countries across parental, medical, personal, military and other statutory leave programs Review and respond to diverse leave inquiries from team members and managers, HR Business Partners, executives, and other stakeholders Process leave correspondence and documentation Enter leave information into various systems and ensure accurate and compliant tracking, recording and reporting of all managed leave event Review and file relevant leave reporting and claims with appropriate vendors, state or country-specific agencies, and otherwise follow all required reporting of leaves Identify trends, questions, and issues for escalation, review, or resolution Be familiar with, and educated about, types of leave by worker type and country and study the knowledge base to ensure compliant application and decision making in leave administration Monitor and track leave utilization, prepare and distribute relevant reports Respond to team member and manager tickets (Jira) regarding leave requests, questions, and planning Advise managers and team members on the interaction of leave laws with other relevant Deel policies or programs, paid time off, and short-term and long-term disability benefits. Oversee the return-to-work process for team members returning from extended leave of absence Administer other company time-off programs as assigned in accordance with internal policy and applicable laws Maintain and protect confidentiality of team member medical documentation and files Work with our global team of brokers, platforms, carriers, internal stakeholders, etc. to ensure our programs are operating efficiently and compliantly Other duties as assigned What You Will Bring Direct and applicable experience managing global leave of absence or benefits programs for minimum of four years Global experience in leave of absence, leave policy and benefits administration in at least 5 countries Working knowledge of human resources management principles and practices in all human resources programs highly preferred Experience with government mandated employee leave laws involving employee benefits (such as SSP, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, State Parental Leave & Disability, etc.). Experience highly preferred with statutory requirements for employee benefit plans and programs in the United States, United Kingdom, Israel, Germany, Canada, France, Spain, Australia, and/or the Netherlands Ability to think globally and process complex information and philosophies regarding a global workforce Excellent processing skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders Ability to collaborate cross-functionally is a global, matrixed environment Ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure situations Ability to ideate with creative, inclusive, and equitable solutions for team members across more than 100 countries Global mindset to tackle diverse needs Self-motivated, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative, and responsible Desire to, and the ability to, work in a highly collaborative yet fully distributed, global team environment Ability to successfully work autonomously and with self-motivation and self-direction Strong desire to solve tough problems and share learnings with others Experience in high-growth /pre-IPO Technology companies is highly preferred This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
