Position Title: Youth Staff
Department: Entertainment & Guest Activities
Reports To: Youth Activities Manager
Position Summary
Leads fun, safe, and educational activities for guests aged 6 months to 17 years as part of the youth program. Ensures a high standard of guest care and safety while facilitating age-appropriate events, games, and themed programming.
Key Responsibilities
* Organize and lead structured activities by age group: Royal Babies/Tots (6–36 months), Aquanauts (3–5), Explorers (6–8), Voyagers (9–11), and Teens (12–17).
* Supervise children during meals, rest, and activities; maintain discipline and safety at all times.
* Communicate professionally with parents and act as a liaison between them and the Youth Activities Manager.
* Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies, assist with venue cleanliness, and report needed repairs.
* Support embarkation, muster drills, shore excursions, and special onboard events.
* Serve as a positive role model and respond calmly to emergencies or conflicts involving children.
* Assist with music, AV equipment, and teen events (e.g., pool parties, karaoke, themed nights).
* Stay informed on current youth trends and interests.
* Maintain required documentation and attend all training and safety drills.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Education, Recreation, Child Psychology, or related field (or international equivalent).
* 3–5 years experience working with youth (camps, schools, community centers).
* Infant/Child CPR and lifesaving certification preferred.
* Strong interpersonal, conflict-resolution, and group management skills.
* Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, internet navigation).
* Fluent in English (spoken and written); other languages (Spanish, French, German) a plus.
1. Physical Requirements
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods.
* Must meet all physical standards required for shipboard emergency duties.
