Position: Rolling Stock Doors Team LeaderEmployment Type: Full Time - 40 hours per weekSalary: £36,000 to £46,000 depending on experienceSummary:The Rolling Stock Doors Team Leader is responsible forleading and managing a team of door technicians (circa 15) to ensure all train door systems aremaintained, repaired, overhauled and verified to the highest standards. This role ensures thateveryvehiclesdoorsystems arefully operational, compliant, and safe before being released back to the customer.Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership & Management Manage, lead, and develop a team of door technicians on sitePlan daily activities,allocateworkload, andmonitorperformanceProvidetechnical guidance, coaching, and support to techniciansEnsure staffing levels meet operational and project requirementsCarry out performance reviews and support training and competency developmentTechnical & Operational Oversight Oversee all maintenance, fault-finding, overhaul, and repair of rolling stock door systemsEnsure all work is completedin accordance withrailway standards, OEM requirements, and company proceduresSupport complex fault diagnostics and provide escalation support whenrequiredMonitor productivity and ensure efficient use oflabourand resourcesInspection & Verification Personally verify and sign off door systems prior to vehicle releaseEnsure all doors on every unit are fully functional, safe, and compliantConduct quality inspections and audits of completed worConfirm all testing and documentation is completed accurately beforeHandoverCustomer & Stakeholder Interface Act as the main point of contact for door-related activities on siteLiaise with production, engineering, and customer representativesProvide updates on progress, issues, and risks affecting deliverySupport audits and customer inspectionsKey Skills & Experience: Strong experience with rolling stock door systems (e.g.sliding, plug external doors)Proven leadership or supervisory experienceIn-depth knowledge of rail maintenance standards and safety requirementsAbility to perform inspections, testing, and technical verificationStrong problem-solving and fault-finding abilitySafety and Compliance: Adhering to industry standards, company procedures, and safety regulations during all testing processes.Ensuring proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.Following all safety procedures and guidelines to protect oneself and others from hazardous materials.Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, gloves, and coveralls.Adhering to environmental regulations and proper disposal methods for paint and solvents.You have a responsibility under the Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974 to take reasonable care of yourself and other persons that may be affected by your acts or omissions at work, secure the health, safety and welfare of your staff at work and protect, so far as is reasonable practicable, all others against risks to their health or safety arising from your work activities and those of their staff and ensure that your duties are discharged adequately.
