The Role
We are looking for qualified engineers, ideally with experience in the food industry, who can fit into our current team working over various shifts, mornings or evenings, Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend work may be required for maintenance, but this should be rare. We offer some amazing benefits including industry-leading holiday and pension schemes.
Area of responsibility
• To service, maintain, and repair all factory equipment to ensure production is maintained at optimum efficiency and to meet key performance targets safely, effectively, and efficiently, aligned with DC UK values and behaviors.
Specific tasks:
* Deliver key performance targets for the designated area.
* Attend breakdowns promptly to minimize machinery downtime and support operational performance.
* Be available for prompt attendance to breakdowns with the correct tools within 2 minutes of callout.
* Maintain machinery in top condition to ensure availability for operations at all times.
* Diagnose defects, effect repairs, and evaluate results (test before handing back).
* Understand system drawings and machinery manuals (Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic).
* Stay updated with current technology advancements and best practices.
* Identify and order correct spare parts and communicate this to team members.
* Monitor and recycle materials to reduce costs.
* Conduct performance tests on machinery regularly.
* Liaise with contractors, assess work quality, and ensure standards are maintained.
* Keep records updated and carry out effective handovers.
* Communicate effectively with other departments to promote cooperation and awareness of machinery status.
* Ensure high standards of manufacturing practice and maintain an audit-ready area.
* Continuously seek ways to improve efficiency, yields, and reduce waste while maintaining quality.
* Participate in departmental and site improvement projects.
* Perform any other duties within your skills to meet business needs.
