Supervising Social Worker - Wiltshire role at Five Rivers
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supervising Social Worker to join Five Rivers Child Care and to be part of the continued development of the South and Southeast Service, based in Salisbury. You will be part of a team committed to our mission of “Turning children’s lives around” to help children and young people who have experienced adversity achieve their full potential.
You will be based from the Registered Office in Salisbury, with flexibility for home working days and attending face-to-face meetings with Foster Carers in their homes. The post holder should be creative, flexible and willing to travel. Experience in the Fostering Sector (IFAs or Local Authority) is preferred. Responsibilities include completing Initial Home Visits through to Form F Assessments and presenting at Independent Panels. The role includes holding a caseload of Foster Carers and contributing to service recruitment strategies to engage prospective Foster Carer applicants.
Five Rivers works from an Attachment Trauma Informed Care Model (ATIC), integrating fostering, residential, clinical and education provision to achieve the best outcomes for young people. The role involves collaborating with our Clinician and Therapeutic Senior Practitioner to tailor support services to individual needs, and participating in Reflective Practice sessions for the Social Work Team.

You will be responsible for:
* Direct support of foster carers within a realistic caseload to enable supervision, monitoring and intervention.
* Working within a Trauma Informed Practice Model, evolving with research and practice developments.
* Undertaking initial home visits to prospective foster carers and completing Form F Assessments.
* Assisting in recruitment strategy and attending recruitment events.
* Being part of the Children and Young People Participations Strategy and events.
* Collaborating with colleagues and managers to meet Ofsted requirements and deliver high standards of service.
* Participating in Out of Hours on-call support to foster carers (paid in addition to salary).
* Being part of a regular referral Duty rota.

You will have:
* The desire to be a team player who aims for the best outcomes for children and foster carers.
* Ideally experience in the Fostering Sector and/or working with children/young people in social care.
* A formal social work qualification.
* Registration as a Social Worker with Social Work England.
* A valid driving license.
* The right to work in the UK.
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 9:00–17:00 and Friday 9:00–16:30. Full-time over 5 days. On-call out-of-hours duty is required (paid in addition to salary).
