Network Engineer

Location: Hampshire - 5 days on site
Are you a Network Engineer looking to work on production LANs and global WANs in a high-security environment? We are seeking a hands-on engineer to support existing networks, implement new infrastructure, and lab/test emerging technologies. The ideal candidate is comfortable with CLI-driven configuration, network security, and automation.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, implement, and support LAN and WAN architectures
* Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols including OSPF and BGP
* Implement and manage VPNs and network security infrastructure, including NGFWs (Next-Generation Firewalls)
* Build and maintain data centre networks (Leaf/Spine architecture or similar)
* Work with high assurance IP encryption (HAIPE) devices
* Automate network deployments and orchestration using Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools
* Document configurations and implement designs from High-Level and Low-Level Design documents
* Work with whitebox/open networking infrastructure (Linux-based network OS)
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience with LAN/WAN architecture
* Strong understanding of OSPF & BGP routing protocols
* Hands-on experience with VPNs and firewalls
* Knowledge of data centre network design
* Experience with network automation/orchestration tools
* CCNP or equivalent qualification
Desirable Skills
* Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) such as NSX
* Exposure to whitebox switching/open networking platforms
* Familiarity with high-assurance encryption device
