Mechanical Technician
Multiple locations available:
Location : Livingston (Central Scotland), Carlisle / Penrith, South Sheffield
£32,(Apply online only) – £36,(Apply online only) + vehicle + fuel + Travel paid (door to door )
Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
The Role
We are supporting a leading environmental services provider who are expanding their field teams ahead of a major contract mobilisation.
They are looking for Mechanical Technicians to carry out routine maintenance and operational support across a network of treatment and monitoring sites.
This is a practical, hands on role suited to candidates from a mechanical maintenance, operator or engineering background.
Key Responsibilities
• Strip, inspect, and maintain valves and mechanical components
• Carry out greasing, servicing, and basic repairs
• Take water samples and record operational data
• Perform routine site checks and readings
• Support general maintenance and upkeep of sites
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with procedures
• Report issues and escalate faults where required
• Work independently across multiple sites
What We Are Looking For
• Background in mechanical maintenance, plant operations, or similar
• Practical, hands-on approach with good problem solving skills
• Comfortable working alone in a field-based role
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Experience in water, utilities, or industrial environments is advantageous but not essential.
