Detailed Responsibilities
* Operational Excellence: You will manage the day-to-day "life" of the school building. This includes checking the heating levels in the winter, ensuring the halls are ventilated in the summer, and keeping a meticulous log of all site repairs and inspections.
* Security & Key Holding: You will be responsible for the first line of defense—the school perimeter. This includes checking fences, maintaining external lighting, and managing the electronic door entry systems across the site.
* Maintenance & Improvement: We encourage our caretakers to be proactive. If you see a way to improve the site—whether that’s building a new storage unit or improving the signage—we want to hear your ideas. You will have a budget for small repairs and the autonomy to manage your own workshop.
* Waste & Environment: You will oversee the waste management contracts, ensuring that the school remains clean and that our carbon footprint is minimized through effective waste segregation.
The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone with a background in building maintenance, facilities management, or a skilled trade. You must be comfortable using technology (for email and site logs) and be able to communicate effectively with staff and students alike.
