* The purpose of the Networks Support function is to design, operate and deliver market‑leading mobile networks. Success is measured by customer‑centric KPIs and proactive fault resolution.
* The Mobile Operations teams support and manage system and service performance for mobile voice and data services across all mobile brands.
* The role holder will own and drive improvement initiatives for the Mobile Networks Support team, leading projects to completion.
* The role requires technical expertise, engaging in major projects and supporting delivery of new or changed mobile network technologies.
* The Databuild team ensures the best customer experience for all voice and data services specific to configuration.
* Team members participate in incident, change & problem management as well as project‑related work.
* Team members also support a 24x7x365 emergency call‑out rota.
What I’ll Be Doing – Your Accountabilities
* Incident, Change, Problem & Risk Management – Employ effective ITIL‑based practices.
* System Maintenance & Upgrades – Maintain existing systems and introduce upgrades and configuration changes.
* Monitoring & Alarming – Ensure adequate monitoring and reviewing during issue resolution.
* Cross‑Team Collaboration – Work with internal teams and third parties to enhance service performance.
* Stakeholder Liaison – Coordinate with Service Management, Operations Integration, Revenue Assurance, vendors and solution providers.
* Proactive Service Monitoring – Develop monitoring tools that validate performance from the customer’s perspective.
* Documentation Management – Produce and maintain support documentation for operational clarity.
* Project & Task Administration – Maintain project files, team inboxes and ticketing systems.
* Change Implementation – Raise and implement changes following ITIL processes.
* Workload Management – Prioritize tasks based on commercial, technical and operational needs.
* Multi‑Vendor System Support – Support high‑critical systems across various vendors.
* Service Restoration & Improvement – Respond to unpredictable events, restoring or improving services promptly.
Skills Required For The Job
* Software Engineering Professional: Intermediate understanding of programming/scripting using Linux and Python.
* Voice and Data Core Network Expertise: Knowledge of core network architecture, interfaces, protocols and standards.
* Virtual IMS Architecture: Technical understanding of Virtual IMS technologies.
* Security Knowledge: Awareness of security vulnerabilities.
* Signalling and Call Flow Analysis: Experience using Netscout to trace signalling and analyze call flows.
* Information Sensitivity: Able to handle sensitive information with discretion.
* Security Clearance Requirement: Must be a UK National due to potential Home Office security clearance.
* Communication & Teamwork: Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
* Analytical Thinking: Capable of making informed judgments based on factual and qualitative data.
* Continuous Learning: Proactive and enthusiastic approach to skill development.
Experience You Would Be Expected To Have
* Experience in telecoms and engineering disciplines with a practical, hands‑on foundation.
