We seek to appoint a Portering and Security Officer. Post-holders will undertake a variety of vital roles for the College, including setting up rooms for events, ensuring the day-to-day physical security of the site, performing minor emergency maintenance/repair tasks, providing initial first aid, and coordinating security and fire alarms and services.

Hours:
The rota operates on a six-week basis with an average of 40 hours per week over this period. Working shifts are scheduled from Monday to Sunday, with three core shift patterns (each 8.5 hours): 0600-1430, 0930-1800, and 1400-2230. These shifts will be scheduled on a rota basis. Please refer to the rota document and the job description for available working patterns, noting that weekly rotas are subject to change.
The salary:
The starting salary is £25,708.80 per annum, increasing to £26,582.40 per annum after successful completion of on-the-job training and probation.
Night Shifts:
Portering and Security Officers may work up to 11 night shifts per year to cover the annual leave of Night Security Officers. An enhanced rate of pay applies for hours worked between 8 pm and 6:30 am (details in the job description).
