Senior Practitioner

Pay rate: £33.30 per hour
Are you an experienced and passionate Qualified Social Worker looking for career progression? We are seeking experienced social workers to join a Permanence Team. This is an exciting time to join this local authority in the West Midlands, as they celebrate their GOOD Ofsted status.
We require social workers with a proven track record, excellent report writing skills, and experience in court work, planning for permanency, and writing CPRs and Annex A. A strong background in parenting assessments, viability assessments, and producing evidence that withstands scrutiny is essential. Additionally, excellent risk assessment and outstanding written communication skills are required.
We offer regular supervision, including monthly group reflective sessions.
As part of this dedicated team, you will work in a busy, supportive environment assessing and working with children and families, intervening where necessary to provide early support. Your assessment work will involve direct engagement with children and families, collaborating with agencies such as police and health services to achieve positive, sustainable outcomes. The service maintains strong links with our Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help colleagues to promote community support when social care involvement is no longer needed.
Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, and guided by the values of social care, you will support the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective services. Using your professional expertise, you will make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions, establishing and maintaining relationships with service users and agencies to meet their needs.

Ideal candidate profile:
* Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
* Experience working with children and families, including vulnerable groups
* Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking
* Knowledge of Child Protection legislation and related issues
* Committed to continuous improvement
* Excellent mediation and negotiation skills
* Ability to build meaningful relationships with children and families
* Experience working in multi-disciplinary, interagency settings
* 4+ years qualified

* Manage an agreed caseload
* Utilize specialist communication skills for optimal outcomes
