The PAT Tester is responsible for carrying out portable appliance testing on all relevant electrical equipment within the manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The role supports operational safety by identifying and mitigating electrical hazards through systematic inspection, testing, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular portable appliance testing (PAT) in accordance with the Electricity at Work Regulations and IET Code of Practice.
* Maintain accurate records of all testing, including asset details, test results, and remedial actions.
* Label tested equipment with appropriate pass/fail status.
* Identify faulty or non-compliant equipment and isolate/remove it from use.
* Liaise with departmental managers to schedule testing with minimal disruption to production.
* Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained.
* Assist in maintaining an up-to-date inventory of electrical equipment.
* Report hazards and escalate any safety concerns promptly.
* Support general maintenance activities, if required, during low testing demand periods.
Skills and Qualifications:
* City & Guilds 2377 qualification or equivalent in PAT Testing (required).
* Proven experience in PAT Testing, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Strong understanding of electrical safety legislation and best practices.
* Excellent attention to detail and methodical approach to testing and documentation.
* Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
* Competent in using PAT testing equipment and basic IT systems for reporting.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of other maintenance duties in a factory setting.
* First aid or fire marshal training.
* Familiarity with manufacturing operations or industrial health & safety standards.
Working Conditions:
* Based on-site in a manufacturing facility; may require working around machinery or in confined spaces.
* Occasional lifting of equipment and movement around the factory floor.
* Standard working hours with occasional flexibility for shift-based operations
