We do this by offering both remote and on-site services in more than 350 languages, for over 9,000 clients, with a diverse and highly experienced staff, including over 10,000 contract interpreters.
Quality interpretation is essential to our success, and we achieve this by bringing in the best interpreters in the industry.
We are currently seeking Remote Contract Cantonese Interpreters who are passionate about using their language skills to help others and share a sincere desire to serve.
Contract Responsibilities:
1. Provides consecutive, first-person interpretation.
2. Follows interpreter protocols and procedures as required by Propio L.S.
3. Adheres to all Propio L.S. policies and procedures related to confidentiality and interpreter ethics.
4. Continuously enhances vocabulary and specialized knowledge in areas such as medical, legal, and social services.
Requirements:
* Submission of an updated Resume in English at the time of application.
* English Language Proficiency with a rating of “technical proficiency” (3 or higher on the ILR scale).
* Successful completion of a Mock Oral Interpretation session, evaluated against 24 quality standards with a passing score.
* Completion of Propio's online Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Physiology Assessment with a passing score.
* A full Background Check and Security Screen.
* A signed commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and HIPAA compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
* At least 1 year of interpreting experience.
Propio’s evaluation process aligns with standards set by the National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC), International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA), and California Healthcare Interpreters Association (CHIA).
