Ad-hoc Temporary Shifts Monday to Friday
£12.25 Per Hour / Paid Weekly.
Working Day: 8am to 5pm(4 to 8-hours per shift)
Overview:
Suitable for anyone who is physically fit and able to work outdoors in a yard, and warehouse storage facility environment, all weathers (construction workers, warehouse, or yard operatives). You will need to have steel toe capped safety boots.
Job Description:
We are seeking temporary Container Unloaders and Yard Operatives.
Paid trial shifts are available to give you an opportunity to experience the role as it involves working outdoors and in cold chiller / blast freezer environments.
Working with a team of people on site unloading fully stacked containers, with each box weighing up to 10kg, and stacked up to 2 metres high, working to timed deadlines.
You will be assessed during your trial shift; successful candidates will be offered additional hours which some weeks can lead to full-time hours.
Some weeks there might not be shifts available due to container deliveries being cancelled or postponed, which is why shifts can range from 4 to 8-hours per day.
Opportunity for a valued and reliable worker to have this as an on-going temporary employment.
Alternatively, there is potential for a regular, valued, and reliable, full-time worker to become a permanent worker, based on the business's needs.
The work site is accessible by public transport; train station is about a 15-minutes' walk.
Support goods-in / goods-out / picking / packing, warehouse and yard operative duties as required, handling materials safely and ensuring site cleanliness.
There will be occasions where shifts become available last-minute, please make sure you keep in contact with us once your registration has been completed, as all work is offered on a first come first served basis.
Experience / Requirements
* Must be able to lift and carry boxes up to 10kg each.
* Must be able to reach up to 2-meters in height to complete picking requirements.
* Must be able to work in a cold outdoor environment and at -18 degrees.
* Must be able to understand instructions, health, and safety training.
* Able to perform cleaning duties as required.
* You must be eligible to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship is available).
* Can work ad-hoc temporary hours.
* Live in the Avonmouth or surrounding areas.
All CVS will be reviewed.
