We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Mechanic / Fitter on behalf of our client based in Tamworth. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and well-established operation, working within a professional yard environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the company's fleet, ensuring vehicles and trailers remain mechanically sound and legally roadworthy.

Working Hours
* Monday - Saturday or Tuesday - Saturday
* 09:00 - 18:00 or 10:00 - 19:00
* Saturday availability is essential.

Pay
£17.00 - £22.00 per hour depending on experience.

Key Duties
* Ensuring vehicles and trailers are mechanically sound and legally roadworthy
* Completing repairs to vehicles and trailers in a timely manner
* Carrying out services including oil and filter changes
* Performing Periodic Maintenance Inspections (PMI).
* Advising on Vehicle Off Road (VOR) issues.
* Preparing vehicles for MOT testing.
* Attending remote breakdowns when required
* Repairing or replacing tyres where necessary
* Reporting any issues affecting road safety
* Ensuring all maintenance documentation is completed and up to date
* Supporting with general yard maintenance duties

Requirements
* Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic / Fitter or similar role
* Strong mechanical knowledge of HGV vehicles and trailers
* Good work ethic and ability to work independently
* Ability to diagnose and resolve faults efficiently
