Social Worker – Adult Safeguarding Operations. An exciting opportunity to join the Plymouth City Council Adult Safeguarding Team.
Safeguarding means protecting an adult’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect. It involves working with people and organisations to prevent and address risks of abuse or neglect, whilst promoting the adult’s wellbeing.
About Us
In Plymouth we integrate Adult Social Care and Community Health services, provided by Livewell Southwest CIC. Plymouth City Council retains statutory functions under the Care Act 2014, overseeing safeguarding duties. The Adult Safeguarding Pathway is being developed to create a seamless response model across Council and Livewell teams.

Responsibilities
* Undertake enquiries, assess risk and coordinate safeguarding responses.
* Triage cases using social work knowledge in line with statutory duties.
* Ensure practice is responsive, effective, and compliant with current legislation.
* Provide legally literate, specialist advice and guidance to partners.
* Maintain a caseload and chair multi‑agency risk management meetings.
* Evidencing practice within a safeguarding framework.
Qualifications
* Registered Social Worker who has completed the Assessed and Supervised Year in Employment, or at least two years post‑qualifying experience.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to evidence practice within a safeguarding framework.
* Desirable: Holding a BIA award or willingness to undertake this training.
* Enhanced DBS check with Adults Barred List & Children’s Barred List.
