General Sales Manager
Title: General Sales Manager (B2B)
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 + Car Allowance
Sector: FMCG (Food)
Location: This role is either on the road visiting customers or WFH. Plus once a month at HQ in Hertfordshire
This is a brilliant opportunity to join a well-established FMCG operation that has gone from strength to strength over multiple generations!
Managing a team of 6 - you'll play a pivotal role in driving sales for this business and help them break the 9-figure turnover mark!
Accounts will vary in size but expect to work with c. £8M size accounts - nationwide - providing highly sought after products to major wholesalers.
What you'll be doing:
1. Leading and inspiring a sales team to hit and exceed KPIs
2. Managing your own portfolio of customer accounts
3. Coaching, mentoring, and supporting team development
4. Collaborating cross-functionally with NPD, technical, and logistics teams
5. Driving commercial performance through smart negotiation and account growth
6. Analysing sales data and implementing improvements using CRM and reporting tools
7. Representing the customer in product development and sustainability discussions
We're looking for someone who:
8. Has a proven sales background in the food industry
9. Brings experience selling into wholesalers or food manufacturers
10. Can confidently lead a team and manage their own accounts
11. Is data-savvy and comfortable using Excel, CRM, and reporting dashboards
12. Understands how to align ESG values with customer expectations
13. Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
