Position Overview
UE07: £41,064.00 – £48,822.00 per annum.
School of Biological Sciences / College of Science & Engineering.
Full‑time: 35 hours per week.
Fixed‑term contract: 30 months.
Key Responsibilities
* Investigate extracellular RNA (exRNA) and its role in immune regulation.
* Build on existing studies of exRNAs released from parasites to explore exRNA from eukarya and bacteria that regulate immune signalling in mammalian cells.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary, international research team funded by the Human Frontiers in Science Programme.
* Conduct experimental work in Amy Buck’s laboratory, Institute of Immunology & Infection Research, University of Edinburgh.
* Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences.
Required Qualifications
* PhD in a relevant field (RNA biology, biochemistry, microbiology or immunology).
* Significant post‑doctoral research experience (at least 1–2 years).
* Advanced knowledge of RNA biology, biochemistry, microbiology and immunology.
* Strong analytical and experimental skills, with experience in molecular biology techniques.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
