CONTRACTS MANAGER
SOUTHAMPTON
Due to continued growth and project successes, we are currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager to join our Energy Division. The Contracts Manager will oversee a portfolio of critical infrastructure projects throughout the UK, predominantly delivering large civil engineering projects on substation and/or compressor stations.
The Contracts Manager will be based at our Head Office in Southampton, visiting sites under your control on a weekly basis. A typical week would likely comprise of 2 days in the office, 2 days on site and 1 day at home.
Reporting to the Framework Manager, duties include but are not limited to:
Responsible for overseeing up to 3 projects at any one time
Working closely with the Head of SHEQ to ensure the highest standards of safety, updating on environmental issues, and ensuring quality
Managing and supporting the Project Managers on each of your projects, providing guidance to ensure delivery excellence
Providing thorough commercial and programme support
Working with the Bid team, leading bid activity to produce tenders for projects within the Energy Division
Leading innovation and compliance on all contracts
Working closely with the commercial team, designers, planners, and site teams
Client interface; attending regular meetings with the client and reporting on design and project completion timelines
Effective monthly reporting to the Framework Manager
Background/skills & qualifications:
BEng/HND in Civil Engineering
A minimum of 2 years of working in a Contracts Manager role
Working knowledge of NEC suite of contracts
A proven track record of securing and delivering large civil engineering projects
CSCS card
Full UK Driving Licence & willing to travel to project sites
A background of delivering projects within a substation environment would be advantageous but not essential
