Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Yard Assistant at our Gillingham location. The Yard Assistant will be responsible for handling and organizing materials, assisting with loading and unloading deliveries, maintaining a clean and safe workspace, and providing exceptional customer service. Additionally, the role includes managing stock, preparing orders for collection or delivery, and ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
* Ability to handle and organize building materials efficiently, including timber, sheet materials, and other heavy items
* Experience in stock management and understanding of inventory control processes
* Strong customer service skills with a focus on providing a positive experience
* Knowledge of safe equipment operation and adherence to health and safety regulations
* Physical ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects as part of daily tasks
* Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
* Forklift certification or experience operating forklifts is advantageous
* Previous experience in a similar role or in the building supplies industry is an asset
