Main Duties:
Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications related to parapet systems.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for supply and installation, including materials, labour, plant, and subcontractor elements.
Work closely with the design and engineering teams to ensure technical compliance and value engineering.
Identify risks, exclusions, and opportunities within tenders.
Support bid submissions with pricing breakdowns, clarifications, and supporting documentation.
Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required.
Collaborate with project managers and commercial teams to ensure smooth handover of successful bids.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Experience in estimating within the highways or civil engineering sector, ideally with a focus on parapet systems or similar safety infrastructure.
Strong understanding of parapet types, installation methods, and relevant standards (e.g., EN 1317, BS 7818).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Proficiency with ERP systems
Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Working hours:
Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week
Salary:
£35,000 - £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)
