Job Summary
Working alongside the Construction Project Managers, the Senior PM will be responsible for ensuring customer contract deliverables are met on time and to the standards required. The Senior PM will also be responsible for ensuring contract processes are followed and correctly applied.
* Role is a 3‑year Fixed Term Contract based on site at the Saunderton Campus, a short distance from High Wycombe.
Duties and Responsibilities
Act in capacity of Senior Project Manager and be responsible for ensuring that the project delivery is in line with the customer contract.
Ensure contract compliance with customer contracts: maintain project deliverables on time and to the correct standard, administer contract changes between customer and VIRTUS, issue project cost information and process received purchase orders.
Cooperate with the VP of Construction to map project deliverables and advise construction PMs of required actions.
Prepare, manage and report on deliverables activity tracker (based on contract requirements) for all M&E fit‑out works at the campus, including customer‑requested fit‑out works.
Apply influence, strategy and negotiation skills to identify options and recommend solutions for contract compliance.
Apply a growth‑mindset philosophy to day‑to‑day tasks, ensuring deficiencies identified within current processes/frameworks are addressed and improvements implemented.
Regularly report to VP of Construction on compliance with contract terms.
Serve as single point of responsibility for compliance with all contract terms.
Attend scheduled project meetings with PMs and report as necessary.
Work with VIRTUS PMs to enable them to deliver project progress status reports covering scope, schedule and budget as required, including schedule health metrics for internal and external customer updates.
Challenge and remove barriers by working with others around a shared need or customer benefit.
Maintain a broader perspective, identify and evaluate opportunities to enhance the business through cross‑group collaboration.
Incorporate diverse perspectives to thoroughly address complex business issues.
Day to Day
Work with project teams (PMs, contractors and specialists) to ensure contract deliverables are made on time and in line with requirements.
Develop and manage deliverables tracker.
Work with PMs to deliver handover regimes to customers in line with construction handover process and company policy, including defect close‑out management.
Qualifications
* Desirable: Bachelor’s degree in Contract Administration, Construction Project Management, or Construction Management.
* Experience in data centre project construction with hyperscale data centre operators, lease providers or allied sectors such as petro‑chem, pharma, process control. Heavy process sector experience is valid.
* PRINCE2, APM, MSP or other Project/Programme Management certification preferred.
* Proven Project/Programme Management skills in a technical/construction environment.
* Able to contribute to process improvement initiatives.
* Client or Contractor side on‑site data centre construction or management experience.
* Self‑starter with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and deadlines simultaneously.
* Able to manage and work within a diverse and inclusive team environment delivering large‑scale enterprise projects with both localised and virtual team structures.
* Cross‑group collaborator and influencer across teams and organisations with proven success in participating in cross‑functional teams to deliver successfully.
* Willingness to undergo a BS7858 screening process in line with VIRTUS’ Vetting Policy.
