Secondment Opportunity – Existing permanent employees must first discuss this opportunity with their substantive line manager and complete the secondment request form prior to interview. The secondment request form and the associated secondment policy can be found on the HR/Recruitment intranet pages and must be completed and signed by the substantive line manager. The candidate should then bring the form to the interview as confirmation that an agreement has been granted.
Due to maternity leave we are looking for a Dietitian to join our Clinical Dietetic Team in NHS Forth Valley (FV). The post is based in the Community Team at Stirling Community Hospital and the post holder will work as part of a supportive team of band 7, 6 and 5 Dietitians and will have support from a band 3 Dietetic Assistant to assist in the delivery of excellent patient care.
Responsibilities
* Work predominantly in the dietetic service to Forth Valley Care Homes, leading on elements of service redesign and quality improvement work.
* Maintain a clinical caseload shared with a Band 5 Dietitian and a Band 3 Dietetic Assistant, including patients in care homes and providing nutrition support, gastrointestinal, tube feeding and texture modification.
* Provide supervision and support to Band 5 and Band 3 staff, offering leadership development opportunities.
* Provide cover to other clinical areas as required within scope of practice and competency.
* Contribute actively to departmental activities such as student training, departmental meetings and covering other parts of the service.
* Deliver high‑quality education and maintain excellent communication and organisational skills, demonstrating commitment to personal development and teamwork.
* Be committed to quality improvement projects and participate in the planning and delivery of projects.
Experience & Qualifications
* Existing permanent NHS employees must discuss secondment with line manager before application.
* Experience in community dietetics, outreach or rehabilitation, or a significant service improvement role is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of nutrition support for patients in care homes.
* Prior experience leading or contributing to service redesign initiatives is a plus.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and patient‑centred care.
Working Hours & Salary
As from 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. The hourly rate will be increased proportionally so pay is not affected.
Contract & Sponsorship
Certificate of Sponsorship may be offered for eligible roles that meet the minimum salary threshold and other criteria. Visa status is assessed on a case‑by‑case basis following interview and pre‑employment checks. Applicants currently on a Skilled Worker visa may be subject to transitional arrangements.
