Job Summary
Under close supervision, the Technician I may be responsible for assembly, forming, finishing, material removal, inspection, rework, and repair of components and parts, per customer specifications. Responsibilities include maintenance of machine tools, hydraulic systems, CNC equipment, vacuum, and electrical systems, as well as operation of machines, hand and power tools, gauges, and measuring instruments. The role also involves fabrication of temporary tooling and first-level maintenance.
This is a WEEKEND NIGHT SHIFT: Friday-Sunday, 4:00 PM - 4:00 AM
Job Responsibilities
* Identify and evaluate patterns; determine methods for material removal to meet specifications.
* Prepare parts for tanks by painting, patching, and masking for etching.
* Drill, assemble rivets and brackets, trim, and touch up paint.
* Deburr and form parts using expanders, dye presses, and rolls.
* Mask parts with tape, load parts using cranes, and operate laser programs.
* Maintain records of periodic maintenance and order spare parts as needed.
* Keep a clean work environment in compliance with standards and regulations.
* Support the development of a business culture aligned with company objectives.
* Ensure workplace safety and environmental protection policies are followed.
* Comply with GKN Aerospace policies regarding U.S. Government contracting.
* Perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED
* At least 1 year of experience with hand tools and measuring tools
* At least 1 year of experience reading blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
* Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder due to security clearance requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with GKN
* Experience working with hazardous materials or chemicals
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Knowledge in troubleshooting, safety, quality, and technical issues
* Willingness to work in a repetitive production environment, meeting cost, quality, and schedule targets
