Loughborough Schools Foundation is seeking to appoint a skilled and motivated Finance Manager to join our Finance team. This pivotal role will support the financial management of the Foundation and its two trading subsidiaries, working closely with colleagues across the Foundation, including budget holders within schools and external advisors. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you’ll collaborate with the wider finance team and provide expert financial advice and support to stakeholders at all levels.
This is an ideal position for a qualified (or nearly qualified) accountant who has excellent technical knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing the accounting functions for our two trading subsidiaries.
* Preparing quarterly VAT returns and acting as the first point of contact for VAT queries.
* Maintaining the Fixed Asset register and assisting with monthly management accounts.
* Ensuring reconciliations of all control accounts and supporting budget holders.
* Assisting with annual financial statements and liaising with external auditors.
* Overseeing non-fee billing and FEEE claims, plus ad-hoc analysis and project work
About you:
* Fully qualified (or nearly qualified) accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
* Experience in management accounts, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
* Proficient in Excel; Power BI experience is advantageous.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate financial information clearly.
