Your Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Civil Engineer to be based in our Edinburgh office, joining our 2026 Graduate Programme.
As a graduate at Stantec, you will join a truly multidisciplinary team working on significant projects within our water sector team from day one. You will support our Scottish Water framework working on water and wastewater treatment, storm overflows, flood alleviation, and urban drainage. You will be involved in developing innovative and sustainable solutions that protect the water environment and maintain public water supply. In addition to project delivery for Scottish Water, our teams also support clients across the country, working across all project stages in asset planning, strategy, concept, outline, and detailed design for clients including Northumbrian Water, Yorkshire Water, and United Utilities.
In your day-to-day work you will solve engineering problems, use design software and tools to perform engineering calculations, develop designs, produce drawings, write technical reports and presentations, and undertake site visits. You will work as part of a friendly and collaborative team with support and guidance from Senior and Principal Civil Engineers. Dedicated mentors will support your journey to Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Our city centre office on Morrison Street is located close to Haymarket train station and other transport hubs, making it easily commutable. You will join a vibrant office environment and become part of the local multi-sector Developing Professionals Group (DPG), which holds regular meetings to provide peer support, mentoring, and guidance.
