Our team in Scunthorpe are recruiting for an experienced Substance Misuse Nurse, to join them in providing high quality recovery care to a diverse service user group. Job Opportunity

As a leading charity supporting people with drug, alcohol, and mental health challenges, we operate over 80 services across England and Scotland, providing free and confidential support to more than 100,000 people each year. The postholder will provide a range of health and wellbeing and harm reduction interventions to service users, in accordance with the agreed model of service delivery. As part of this role, you will plan, coordinate and support appropriate detoxification from drugs and/or alcohol, assessing the needs of service users and implementing and evaluating care plans. It will be vital for you to develop strong and positive relationships with key stakeholders and commissioners for the continuity of service, as well as leading on providing community detoxification programmes, clinics and groups.

This is a part time and permanent role, working 22.5 hours per week - this must include working a Tuesday, with the remainder of the days of work flexible in agreement with the hiring manager. We can offer paid NMC registration, as well as paid CPD/revalidation time.



Essential Skills

We’ll be excited to see evidence of the following in your application:

* A compassionate and motivated nurse, with current NMC registration and the ability to connect quickly with the people we support, treating them respectfully and with dignity
* Organisation skills and the ability to manage your time effectively
* Sound experience of comprehensive assessment of need, including risk assessments and be able to implement and evaluate patient care and act accordingly if untoward changes occur
* Working knowledge of substance misuse and an independent prescribing qualification would be advantageous, but we are open to conversations with all suitably qualified applicants
* Above all, we are looking for someone who is passionate about what we do, with a positive and engaging approach to our service users
