Location: Liskeard Head Office / Hybrid Role Purpose: The purpose of the Digital Developer role in Wildanet is to design, implement and maintain software systems that ultimately support and enhance the customer journey, increasing the UI and IX experience. Main Responsibilities: The Digital Developer is responsible for frontend WordPress development and providing assistance with integrating downstream systems, to enhance the customer journey whilst working alongside the Marketing team to increasing marketing prospects and improving the UI and IX experience. Owning and maintaining the WordPress platform, ensuring strong performance, security, stability and scalability across development, staging and production environments. Translating marketing and campaign requirements into high‑quality WordPress builds, enabling quick turnaround without compromising technical standards. Designing and implementing custom WordPress themes, templates and components aligned to Wildanet’s brand and UX best practices. Integrating WordPress with downstream systems (e.g., CRM, payment platforms, analytics, and marketing automation) to ensure clean data flow and accurate capture. Implementing structured data capture mechanisms such as forms, tracking events and UTM frameworks to support attribution, conversion tracking and performance measurement. Ensuring website data is reliably surfaced to the insights team, collaborating with BI and technical teams to validate accuracy and integrity. Optimising site speed, SEO structure, Core Web Vitals and technical hygiene to support customer acquisition and conversion. Managing plugins, updates, and security controls, ensuring compliance with governance standards and minimising vulnerabilities. Developing and maintaining technical documentation on site architecture, integrations, deployment processes and data flows. Monitoring website performance metrics, identifying opportunities to improve user experience and commercial outcomes. Key Activities: While duties and responsibilities will vary, they typically include: Owning and maintaining the WordPress platform, ensuring performance, security, stability, and scalability across all environments (dev, staging, production). Translating marketing and campaign requirements into high-quality WordPress implementations, delivering rapid turnaround while maintaining technical integrity. Designing and implementing custom themes, templates, and components aligned to brand guidelines and UX best practice. Integrating WordPress seamlessly with downstream systems (e.g. CRM, payment platforms, marketing automation, analytics tools) to ensure accurate data capture and flow. Implementing structured data capture mechanisms (forms, tracking events, UTM frameworks) to support clear attribution, conversion tracking, and performance measurement. Ensuring website data is consistently and reliably exposed to the insights team, working closely with BI and technology teams to validate data accuracy and integrity. Optimising site performance, including page speed, Core Web Vitals, SEO structure, and technical hygiene to support acquisition and conversion goals. Managing plugins, updates, and security controls, ensuring minimal vulnerability exposure and adherence to governance standards. Developing and maintaining documentation covering site architecture, integrations, deployment processes, and data flows. Monitoring website performance metrics (traffic, conversion rates, form submissions, campaign impact) and proactively identify improvements to enhance user experience and commercial outcomes. Essential Person Specification Knowledge: WordPress PHP MySQL UX UI IX SEO Skills/Attributes: Ability to focus on detail with a strong eye for accuracy. Ability to develop strong relationships with effective communication techniques. Ability to translate marketing and campaign requirements into WordPress implementations Focussed on technical hygiene and version control across environments Strong critical thinking and analysis. Time and project management. Ability to maintain critical documentation on site architecture, integrations, deployment processes and data flows. Awareness of limiting vulnerability exposure Able to work to Agile project methodologies. Experience: 3 - 5 years’ experience in Wordpress web development and frontend development. Qualifications: General qualifications to include Maths, English and Computing Bachelor’s degree in computer science or IT (desirable) Circumstances: Liskeard office with a hybrid model of a minimum of 3 days in the office.
