Our client is seeking a Junior Designer to join their growing team. Working with a wide range of materials including joinery, metalwork and acrylics, this is a chance to contribute to creative projects for some of the UK’s leading retail brands.
The Role
This position is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented individual looking to develop their design skills in a hands-on manufacturing environment. You’ll work closely with the design team to produce technical drawings, 3D models and conceptual designs, ensuring all products meet client specifications and high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Create and modify technical drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks
Develop design concepts that balance functionality with aesthetic appeal
Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure practicality of designs (joinery, print & acrylics)
Review client briefs and deliver effective design solutions
Assist in preparing project documentation and maintaining design records
Support problem-solving throughout the design and production processRequirements
Proficiency in SolidWorks (experience in other 3D CAD software advantageous)
Understanding of technical drawing principles and design for manufacture
Strong attention to detail with creative problem-solving ability
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting with multiple live projects
Previous design experience in a manufacturing setting desirable but not essentialWhat’s on Offer
