Job Overview
Position: Community Neuro Occupational Therapist (Band 5 or 6 depending on experience). Part‑time (22.5 hours, 0.6 WTE) on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the development, administration and provision of a specialist Community Neurology Occupational Therapy service.
* Manage a varied caseload of patients with neurological diagnoses, conducting complex assessments that consider physical, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual and social aspects.
* Provide client‑led, goal‑focused rehabilitation for clients aged 18+ with conditions such as stroke, brain injury, multiple sclerosis (MS) and Parkinson’s disease (PD).
* Deliver interventions including cognitive rehabilitation, fatigue management, upper‑limb rehabilitation and neuro‑splinting.
* Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including rehabilitation assistants, speech and language therapists and MS/PD clinical nurse specialists.
* Participate in regular 1:1 supervision and monthly neuro‑specific in‑service training programmes.
* Attend monthly multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings with MS and PD clinical nurse specialists to further develop skills in managing these client groups.
* Engage in ongoing training and development as part of career progression.
