Our client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of exciting projects from concept through to release at their site in Bridgwater. You’ll be working at the heart of a fast-paced technical department, designing bespoke solutions for high-specification environments. Mechanical Design Engineer – The Role * Lead the mechanical design of products from concept through to production release * Produce detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks * Develop and maintain Bills of Materials, technical documentation, and manuals * Support the full product lifecycle, including design for manufacture and continuous improvement * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring cutting-edge designs to life * Conduct internal testing and assist in the development of product test methods * Provide technical support across the business Mechanical Design Engineer – The Person * A strong conceptual designer with the ability to deliver innovative, practical solutions * Proficiency in SolidWorks and strong knowledge of engineering drawing standards * Solid understanding of modern manufacturing methods across a range of materials * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail * Strong communicator, able to liaise effectively with colleagues, clients, and suppliers * HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent * Comfortable working under pressure and managing your own workload independently Mechanical Design Engineer – The Rewards * Salary £45-50k * 25 days holiday public holidays (increasing with service) * A supportive, innovative team environment * The opportunity to work on industry-leading products * Real responsibility and ownership from day one This is an urgent requirement with interviews to take place asap, so please don’t delay in submitting your CV, we will be in touch promptly to discuss the role and employer.
