Yard Person / Ground Investigation Engineer

A Yard Person / Site Engineer is required to join a Ground Investigation contractor to work on a permanent role in Manchester. You will be combining yard management with site engineering and monitoring duties to support the companies operations in Manchester.
Responsibilities
* Managing and maintaining a safe, tidy yard and stores, including equipment, consumables, and samples
* Preparing, loading, transporting, and returning site equipment and materials
* Receiving, logging, storing, segregating, and disposing of soil and rock samples
* Providing site engineering support, including in-situ testing (e.g. soakaway, permeability, DCP)
* Undertaking gas and groundwater monitoring and sampling
* Carrying out site walkovers to support Phase 1 Desk Studies
* Assisting with stock control, compliance, and mentoring junior staff
Requirements:
* Full UK manual driving licence
* CSCS card
* Willing to work between yard, office, sites, and laboratories
* Strong organisation, communication, and health & safety awareness
* Ideally (not necessarily) a degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Earth Sciences, Civil Engineering or equivalent.
