Job Summary
Oloö is seeking an experienced Head Workshop Joiner to join our growing workshop team. This is a senior leadership role within our production department, offering the opportunity to oversee workshop operations while maintaining the high standards of craftsmanship our brand is known for.
The successful candidate will manage workshop staff, oversee workflow, and carry out product assessments and quality control checks. The role involves cutting, assembling and finishing carcasses and bespoke joinery items, alongside occasional site installation work.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, manage and support workshop staff
* Oversee daily workshop operations and production scheduling
* Carry out product assessments and quality control inspections
* Interpret technical drawings and ensure accurate manufacture
* Cut, assemble and finish bespoke cabinetry and joinery items
* Support site installation work when required
* Maintain strict adherence to safe working practices
Experience / Knowledge / Skills Required
* Time-served joiner or apprenticeship trained, with NVQ Level 2 in Bench Joinery / Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent)
* Proven experience using hand tools and woodworking machinery
* Strong working knowledge of woodworking machinery and workshop processes
* Experience operating CNC machinery and understanding production workflow
* Proficiency in WoodWOP, VCarve, and SketchUp
* Ability to confidently read and work from technical drawings
* Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately and methodically to deadlines
* Good communication and team management skills
* Physically fit and capable of manual handling
* Flexible approach to working hours — occasional overtime and weekend work may be required
Full induction on our specific machinery and systems will be provided; however, substantial prior workshop experience is essential.
