Oncology Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist/Trainee Annex 21 Para 2 (i) role at NHS Tayside. Band 7 Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our Oncology Support Team.

Responsibilities
The post holder will manage the clinical requirements of patients with highly complex needs during and after various oncological treatments including radiotherapy and SACT. This includes holistic assessment, advanced clinical decision making and the provision of long‑term holistic wellbeing follow‑up and review after treatment. The role involves autonomous clinical judgment to formulate appropriate treatment plans and ensure safe delivery of care within the oncology setting. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high‑quality care to patients receiving Oncology treatments.
You will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills, senior nursing experience, knowledge of radiotherapy and SACT treatments, and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of teams. Enthusiasm and motivation to assist with service and policy developments in collaboration with other stakeholders are essential.
It is essential that you are a NMC Registered Level 1 Adult Nurse, educated at degree level with extensive post‑registration experience in Adult Oncology Care. Educated in Advanced Practice or willingness to work towards this is essential, with evidence of continuing professional development and leadership/communication skills. You must be willing to undertake further education specific to this role.
Candidates who do not meet the Clinical Nurse Practitioner criteria are welcome to apply for the trainee role and will be supported to undertake the required education and supervised practice to develop the competence to work as a Clinical Nurse Practitioner. Annex 21 Para 2 (i) terms will apply until successful completion of the CNS training programme.
You should be able to evidence continuing professional development and excellent clinical knowledge, leadership, and communication skills. You must be willing to undertake further education at master’s level.
You will be expected to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
Qualifications
* NMC Registered Level 1 Adult Nurse
* Degree-level education with extensive post-registration experience in Adult Oncology Care
* Advanced Practice or willingness to work towards this; evidence of continuing professional development, leadership and communication skills
* Willingness to undertake further education specific to this role (including master’s level)
* Experience in oncology care and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
* For the trainee route, support to undertake required education and supervised practice to achieve CNS/NP competencies

Hours of work: 37 per week.
