Shunter Driver
(Normal working hours are averaged to a total of 45 per week, as follows)
£36,000 per annum
Monday to Thursday 8am to 6pm
Every other Saturday and Sunday 8am - 6pm (every other week you get a x3 day weekend)

Our client is a well-established and respected business that has a fleet of 40+ Trucks & Trailers from 12 & 24 Tonne Rigids to a range of 40+ Tonne Artics. Due to the company experiencing significant growth within the depot, they are in need of a Shunter to join them in a full-time permanent role.
Skills and Knowledge
* Previous experience in a similar roll
* A Certificate of professional competence (CPC) is required.
* Valid Counterbalance FLT license (or recent experience to be able to do a refresher course)
* Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
* Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members
* Good attention to detail
* Happy to undertake a variety of tasks as they arise
Responsibilities
* Ensuring secure coupling and uncoupling according to DVSA standard
* Practicing safe parking and applying appropriate trailer braking systems
* Organise parking and help with driver\'s hours when required
* Ensure vehicles are parked correctly, clean and ready for use
* Report any drivers\' issues, such as but not exhausted cleaning conditions etc.
* Flexibility with both time and tasks to keep the yard/ warehouse functioning effectively
* Move and reallocate units when requested
* Transfer trailers to and from the other sites when requested
* General housekeeping around the trailer parks
* Help identify load pick and pack client storage needs.
